Most of them agree that the main image stands out on the poster the most, they like the way that the smoke has been used and how it gives a dramatic effect.
According to the audience the magazine and the poster are very similar showing continuity, because of the consistent colour scheme of green black and white, the same typography of the movie title and the antagonist incorporated in the main image of both the magazine and the poster.
The audience think that the poster definitely follows the conventions of an existing movie poster today which gives it such a realistic look with the way that everything has been structured on the page.
Everyone seemed to not have bad feedback; one improvement was to add a drop shadow behind the film title to make it stand out more.

conclusion
Overall the magazine feedback has been positive, the target audience believe that the magazine follows the conventions of existing movie magazines making it look realistic and encouraging them to want to watch Dr Barbitus in the cinema. The audience think that the typography is very unique to other existing magazines and the main image along with the film title stands out the most and they definitely illustrate the horror genre.
Again the audience see continuity between the magazine and the poster because of the common colour scheme and the use of the same typography and the antagonist again being featured on the cover.
To improve some think that the film title should be bigger and more bolder and many people thought that the sub-genre was zombies, so personally we could improve the appearance of the make-up on our antagonist slightly or his costume to suit our sub-genre more.

overall evaluation
This is an overall conclusion explaining in detail all the audience research gathered from the three final products.
poster
According to the audience feedback from the target audience, they seem to find the Dr Barbitus poster realistic in the way that it follows the conventions of a movie poster.
The main image is very dramatic and clearly shows the horror genre so the audience know the type of movie it is going to be straight away, when asking the audience what stood out the most on the poster, most agreed that the main image stood out the most; especially the smoke coming out of the protagonists mouth with the stock characters in the top corner. |
They also recognized the consistency of the colour scheme of green white and black and the unique font used on both the magazine and the poster, making the movie identifiable to them.
However, the audience were able to recognize the slight different in the tone of green on the poster compared to the green on the magazine. The audience also think that the main image could include something that shows more that the movie is to do with social networking and cyber bullying, or make the computer mouse around her neck look more enhanced so that the audience can see the internet theme.
To improve the poster we could use Photoshop to grab the correct shade of green from the poster and then amend it on the magazine where the green is used. The audience feedback has taught us the importance of following conventions and keeping continuity between all products, it also proves how important the audience research we did during the pre-production stage because gathering the opinions of our target audience helped us to create a successful product. Overall the audience felt like the poster overall is a great representation of the trailer, and creativity is shown very well in the way that Photoshop tools were used to create the smoke effect and blending all the images together which made it stand out the most. |
